What is a Share-a-thon
Share-a-thon at Wantok Radio Light is an annual event held every year in October to raise funds for the ministry's operational expenses and its network expansion. It is a week long event where we generously receive financially commitments to fulfill the budget of the coming year.
During the Share-a-thon week, Wantok Radio Light supporters make financial pledges and then make payments during the year. Donations in cash and kind are also made immediately during the Share-a-thon week. It can also be made during the launching or the closing Share-a-thon dinner. Listeners are given the opportunity to call the station by phone, text, fax, emails or either visit the station to make your pledges. Pledges can also be deposited into the ministry's bank accounts.

What do we do during the Share-a-thon week?
Day1: Opening of Share-a-thon Week.
That is when we open the Station to the Public to come and give, pledge or donate things to the ministry.
Day 2-6: Mid-week of Share-a-thon.
That is the most busiest part where our Volunteers are working both Day and Night attending to our listeners, friends, partners, etc...needs. Our lines are open 24 hours to receive calls everywhere in PNG and oversease. We also sell out our CD's, books, shirts, caps, posters and other merchandise to the public.
Day 7: Closing of the Share-a-thon.
That is when we wrap up everything. We have our major closing dinner where people also pledge during the dinner and can pay later in the year. Dinner tickets are sold at the station and people are always encouraged to by the tickets then.
